House prices in Italy in the third
quarter of 2023 rose by 1.8% over the same period in 2022, ISTAT
said on Tuesday.
This is an acceleration compared to the 0.6% rise year-on-year
registered by the index of prices of residential properties
purchased for housing or investment purposes (Ipab) in the
second quarter of this year.
On a quarterly basis in Q3 the price index remained stable
compared to the previous quarter, the national statistics
institute added.
Buying and selling in Q3 instead fell by 10.4% over the same
period in 2022, according to the real estate market observatory
of the Italian revenue agency.
House sales started to drop at the end of last year.
