An Instagram account theft campaign
is ongoing in Italy, the national cyber security agency said
Thursday.
A "malicious campaign aimed at theft of Instagram users through
social engineering' has been detected in recent hours by the
agency for cybersecurity through CSIRT, its Incident Response
Team, it said.
As a countermeasure, it is suggested not to send codes received
on one's own devices to third party users.
In the event that someone takes over your account, the agency
said, you should immediately alert your contacts via other
channels to reduce the impact of the scam and activate one of
the procedures for 'hacked accounts' set up by the product
provider in order to regain possession of the profile.
