Economy Minister Giovanni Tria
said Wednesday "speaking about a possible corrective budget is
rather premature just over two months after the talks with the
European institutions which positively evaluated the (2019)
budget following the negotiations".
He added that two billion euros had been set aside as a
back-up.
"If, from the monitoring of the progress of public accounts
they were shown to be consistent with the planned objectives,
without greater revenue or disposals, the funds set aside by the
cabinet on the proposal of the economy minister can be made
available.
"These margins of reserve appear more than sufficient".
He added that the estimates would be updated when the
government issues its next economic blueprint, the Economic and
Financial Document (DEF), later this year.
