The spread between Italy's
10-year BTP bond and the German Bund on Thursday dropped below
the 250-basis-points mark to 248.5, the lowest level since
September.
The spread, a key indicator of investor confidence and
measure of Italy's borrowing costs, was frequently over the 300
points mark before the government and the European Commission
reached an agreement to avert an infringement procedure over the
2019 budget law.
