The head of the youth chapter
of industrial employers' group Confindustria, Alessio Rossi, on
Wednesday criticised the government's planned basic income for
some job seekers.
"The basic income is a hand-out that does not create jobs and
does not give any dignity," he said. "Only work gives dignity".
Rossi said "I ask myself what dignity you give to people in
work who get 700 euros at the end of the month while those who
stay home get the same income.
"This is an electoral measure with which they won the March 4
general election and now they are aiming to win the European
elections".
