Silvio Berlusconi on Monday
dismissed reports that French group Vivendi might have set its
sights on his Mediaset group.
"Vivendi is extremely interested in Italy and I have been
a friend of (Vivendi President Vincent) Bolloré's for years,"
Berlusconi told RTL 102.5 radio.
"He has expressed an interest in some of the things that
we do, absolutely not in Mediaset, but in our capability to make
products for TV, to create formats.
"Vivendi has a vision for Europe's future and it's
possible that collaborations will be agreed".
Mediaset share price was up 0.53% on the Milan stock
exchange on Monday after having temporarily suspended for
excessive losses.
