The board of Italian postal
company Poste Italiane on Friday approved a request to be listed
on the Milan stock exchange and proposed the adoption of a new
corporate statue to its stakeholders' assembly, the company
said.
Earlier this month the Italian government confirmed that it
plans to list Poste Italiane on the stock exchange by the end of
the year, saying the move is "perceived as a symbol of the
changes taking place in the country".
The company, which has a strong banking arm as well as
handling postal services, announced Friday that it make a profit
of 435 million euros in the first half of 2015, almost twice as
much as the 222 million registered in the same period last year.
