Italian shipbuilding company
Fincantieri on Friday announced it has signed an agreement with
Carnival Corporation for the production of five next-generation
ships to be built between 2019 and 2022.
The agreement between the two companies also includes
options for additional ship builds in coming years.
The Carnival Corporation group has already invested over
$25 billion in Italy through its partnership with Fincantieri.
Fincantieri has built 59 ships for Carnival since 1990 and
other seven orders have already been awarded to the Italian ship
building company.
"These ships will be the most efficient ones of our fleet"
commented Arnold Donald, president and CEO of Carnival.
