The Faculty of Letters and Philosophy
of the University of Tor Vergata in Rome was evacuated after a
brush fire broke out nearby Tuesday.
The fire started in a green area between Viale della Sorbona,
Via Columbia and Via Cambridge, in the Tor Vergata area of the
Italian capital.
The fire brigade and local police rushed to the scene.
The officers secured the area and evacuated, together with the
fire brigade, the faculty and its adjacent car park.
No injured persons are reported at the moment.
Via Columbia, in the section between Via Cambridge and Viale
della Sorbona, is closed to traffic in both directions. Rome
Civil Defence personnel are also on the scene.
