The Group of Seven summit deal on
using interest on frozen Russian assets to give Ukraine a 50
billion dollar aid package is a "strong signal" of its support
for the embattled country, Europeaan Commission President Ursula
von der Leyen said at the Puglia meet Thursday.
She said that with the agreement" we are sending a strong signal
to Ukraine: we will support Kyiv in its struggle for freedom as
long as it takes.
"It's also a strong signal for Putin: he cannot win.
"There is already 50 billion euros in EU aid, and 60 billion
euros in US aid, to which is now added a G7 package of 50
billion dollars."
She said all the G7 partners "will contribute to this loan".
