In the latest draft of the
conclusions of the G7 summit that will open Thursday at the
Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia, according to qualified European
sources, the point in which the G7 stress the importance of
guaranteeing "effective and safe access to abortion" has been
removed.
The point on the right to abortion had been included during the
G7 meeting in Hiroshima and, the same sources explain, France
and Canada, in view of the summit in Puglia, had asked for the
reference to be strengthened.
Italy is G7 president this year.
