Two Senators almost came to blows as
debate on the government's plans to reform the Constitution and
let Italians directly elect their premiers became unusually
heated on Wednesday.
Roberto Menia of Premier Giorgia Meloni's ruling rightwing
Brothers of Italy (FdI) party and Marco Croatti of the leftwing
opposition 5-Star Movement (M5S) squared up to each other and
tried to come into contact but their colleagues separated them.
The session was suspended so that order could be restored.
