I feel my legs are going well says Tokyo 2020 100m champ

Italy's Olympic 100m champ Marcell Jacobs said Tuesday he was not worried after a third-place finish in 10"19 at Ostrava, his third outing this year after 10"11 at Jacksonville and 10"07 at Forte dei Marmi, all well outside his 2021 Tokyo Olympic winning best of 9''80.
"I'm not worried, because I feel the legs are going and can go much stronger, but now we have to put all the pieces together," said the 29-year-old El Paso-born sprinter, who is aiming to retain his title in Paris this summer.
"Today it didn't go badly: it went very badly," he went on.
"After 40 metres I felt I was in an incorrect running set-up. I started to lose my legs at the back and from that moment on I struggled. I expected a completely different feeling, I had no power and no speed. However, I think the first part has improved: now I have to put it together with the second part." At Tokyo 2020, held a year later due to the pandemic, Jacobs also helped the Italian 4x100m relay to their first gold.
