The ruling by the International Court
of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on the eve of Holocaust
Remembrance Day that Israel must take all measures to prevent
genocide in Gaza "hurts", the president of the Union of Italian
Jewish Communities, Noemi Di Segni, told ANSA on Friday.
"It hurts, on the eve of the Holocaust memorial day, to see that
the International Court of Justice has established its
jurisdiction to decide on the case brought by South Africa,"
said Di Segni.
It is, she added, "a totally aberrant action that distorts the
meaning of that 'never again' pronounced so convincingly in the
aftermath of the war, precisely in the establishment of the
court that ascertained the genocide of the Jewish people".
