The government has allocated five
million euros to cover the cost of the most urgent emergency
response measures following the extreme bad weather event that
his Tuscany on Thursday, leaving six people dead and causing
widespread destruction, Premier Giorgia Meloni said on Friday.
"I spoke to President Giani (the Tuscany regional governor, ed.)
and we decided to decree a state of emergency," Meloni told
reporters after the cabinet meeting.
"Five million euro have been allocated for the most urgent
measures," she added.
