The European Commission said Tuesday
the EU is ready to give further support to flood-ravaged
Emilia-Romagna after the activation of the EU civil protection
mechanism.
"The EU stands in full solidarity with Italy after the recent
deadly floods," said the REC on Twitter.
"We stand ready to provide further assistance to the Italian
people at this difficult time."
Two high-capacity pumping teams from Slovakia and Slovenia are
at work at Ravenna and further aid has been offered by Austria,
Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland and Romania.
