There was widespread flooding in Italy Tuesday as torrential rain swelled rivers to break their banks in Lombardy, Liguria, Emilia and Sicily.
Near Ravenna and Bologna, the Sillaro broke its banks flooding fields and crops between Imola and Massa Lombarda.
Houses had to be evacuated at San Lazzaro near Bologna.
In Messina in Sicily, flooding and landslides hit both the Tyrrhenian and Ionian parts of the city, as rivers and streams broke their banks.
Gales hit Genoa and a tree hit a parked car.
There was a blackout on Capri.
Rivers rose dangerously high near Milan too.
