Some 42 migrants were rescued while
three more are missing in a second shipwreck off Lampedusa
Monday after an earlier one left a reported 20 missing, sources
said.
The second boat sank off the coast of the Italian stepping stone
island between Sicily and Tunisia.
Forty-two people were rescued by the Coast Guard, including five
women and three minors, but there are reportedly three missing,
all men.
The group reported setting sail from Sfax, Tunisia, at 10pm last
Saturday, an hour later than the first shipwrecked vessel. The
survivors reported being from Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Guinea,
Mali, Sierra Leone and South Sudan.
