Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson
Maria Zakharova said Thursday that Italy's position on sanctions
against Russia was "indecent".
Rome has backed new EU sanctions on Moscow including, if need
be, sanctions on Russian gas, which accounts for 40% of Italy's
total gas supplies.
Zakharova was speaking on the TV show of a Russian anchorman
whose villas on Lake Como were vandalised by arson and red paint
on Wednesday, Vladimir Solovyev.
Premier Mario Draghi retorted after meeting Dutch Prime MInister
Mark Rutte: "Indecent sanctions? What is indecent are only the
massacres we are seeing every day".
