Pope Francis on Tuesday called on rich nations to give COVID vaccines to poor ones in a message for the 30th World Day of the Sick next month.
"In poor countries medical treatment is a luxury many people cannot afford," said the pope.
"Enough of this lack of vaccines," he said.
Franics also said "let us bless God for the latest progress in medical science", referring to vaccines.
The pope also issued another warning against "throwaway culture".
World Day of the Sick is on February 11.
