A 50-year-old Italian anti-vaxxer
tried to treat himself for COVID-19 at home and died of the
virus, Il Piccolo newspaper reported at the weekend.
The 50-year-old businessman died in Trieste on Friday, the paper
said.
He ran a bed and breakfast with his wife and had a small
company.
He got the first COVID symptoms last week and started treating
himself with remedies pushed on anti-vax websites.
But his condition worsened and he had a cardiac arrest.
An emergency crew rushed to his home but could only confirm he
was dead.
Trieste emergency service chief Doctor Alberto Peratoner told Il
Piccolo: "entrusting yourself to treatment and professionals not
in line with scientific evidence is very dangerous".
