The Italian Bishops Conference (CEI)
on Wednesday condemned protests by anti-vaxxers and those
campaigning against the government's Green Card health
certificate which is mandatory in Italian workplaces.
The bishops contrasted the anti-vaxxers and anti-Green Carders
with "the so many people who have devoted themselves to helping
others" in the pandemic.
The CEI accused them of "manifestations of selfishness,
indifference and irresponsibility, often marked by a
misunderstood affirmation of liberty and by a distorted
conception of rights".
In many cases, the bishops said, "such conduct and talk have
expressed a vision of the human person and social relations that
is very far from the Gospel and the spirit of the Constitution".
