Venice entry fee to start in July

Council will levy 3-10 euros

(ANSA) - Venice, October 24 - An entry fee for tourists wanting to pay day trips to Venice will be introduced in July, the council said Thursday.
The council will levy the fee, which will vary from three to 10 euros depending on the length of stay, except for cruise ships where the port authority will get the fee.
Also on Thursday, the city council said "gondolier-divers" would be used to remove rubbish from canals.
