The Valpolicella 50th Anniversary Tour is about to kick off. The internationalization activities of the consortium are set to begin on October 10 in Vancouver and later make stops in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Zurich. Canada is a strategic market for Valpolicella wines that in 2017 accounted for 25% of total Valpolicella exports, 17% of Valpolicella Ripasso and 6% of Amarone.
Among the activities planned in Vancouver is a "walk around tasting" and a media dinner held in collaboration with Town Hall Brands and Consorzio Tutela Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, with the support of the Italian consulate in the city. On the same day there will be a competition for those working in the sector that will give the possibility to the winner to gain access to the second edition of the Valpolicella Education Program.
The program is course for certification of Valpolicella wines and territory to train new experts that will be held in Verona January 29-31, 2019. The Valpolicella 50th Anniversary Tour will continue in the US October 15-17 in Chicago, where wine tastings and institutional meetings will be held. The international activities of the consortium for the tour will end in Zurich, Switzerland, on October 29 at Metropol. A "walk around tasting" will be held in collaboration with Vinum, a top wine magazine for readers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and the Consorzio Tutela Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.
Two institutional masterclasses by Christian Eder, the correspondent in Italy for Vinum, will also be held.
