Compulsory resources for frontier guards - Avramopoulos (2)

Monday summit will be decisive says commissioner

(ANSA) - Brussels, March 4 - The EU's 28 members are to be asked for a "compulsory" contribution to funding EU frontier guards and coast guards who must be operational from September, Migration and Home Affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said Friday, presenting the 'roadmap' to end internal border controls in the Schengen Area, currently introduced by eight countries, by the end of the year. Avramopoulos said non-documented migrants would be sent back and said Monday's EU migrant summit with Turkey would be "decisive" in helping solve the migrant and refugee emergency.
