French media group Vivendi
said Tuesday it had 20.11% of Telecom Italia (TI) and did not
have any savings shares "either directly or indirectly". It also
said it had had no talks with French businessman Xavier Niel,
who has taken a 15% stake in Telecom Italia. Vivendi and Niel,
who owns Internet provider Iliad, have repeatedly denied they
are acting in concert to take over TI.
