Publicly owned ENI oil and gas
giant announced Thursday it has won a 100% share in a Production
Sharing Contract (PSC) to appraise, develop and exploit the
offshore oil fields of Amoca, Miztón and Tecoalli in Mexico's
Campeche Bay.
The three oil fields are located in the so-called Area 1,
which is close to the shore, at a depth of 20-40 meters.
Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) put
potential yields for the three fields at approximately 800
million barrels of oil and 480 billion cubic feet of associated
gas.
The Area 1 concession will be operated by a newly formed
company called ENI Mexico.
