Italy isn't at risk of a
default as the state's accounts are safe, but resources are
lacking, Italian Audit Court President Raffaele Squitieri said
Friday.
"The state's books aren't a disaster because we're up front
about them...we're not like other countries...in which the
accounts are of dubious accuracy," Squitieri said.
He went on to blame Italy's financial problems on the
international economic situation.
He also praised the current government for trying to cut
spending.
