UIL chief Carmelo Barbagallo on Friday made an appeal to Italy's two other big trade union confederations, CGIL and CISL, to regain the united they once enjoyed, calling for them to rewrite a pact that brought them together in 1972. "Today the true response to the country, to the government, to the political world and our members, is to get together," Barbagallo said, handing the CGIL and CISL a copy of the 1972 pact.
