Italy's Conference of Regions on
Thursday unanimously re-elected Piedmont Governor Sergio
Chiamparino from the center-left Democratic Party (PD) as its
president.
The council of regional governors also unanimously chose
Giovanni Toti from Silvio Berlusconi's center-right Forza Italia
(FI) party as vice president.
"This is a role of great responsibility," said Toti, who
was elected governor of the northeastern Liguria region earlier
this year.
"I will work well with Chiamparino. I thank all the
governors".
