Catania-born actress Tea Falco
said Friday she has been shy since childhood.
Speaking on the first day of the Giffoni Film Festival
running through July 26, the actress told reporters "I got more
shy as I got older, but I hide it better".
The high point of the 29-year-old thespian's career so far
was her nomination for a David di Donatello (Italy's Oscars) for
best actress in a lead role for her performance in Bernardo
Bertolucci's 2012 film Io e Te (Me and You), based on a novel by
award-winning writer Niccolò Ammaniti.
"Bertolucci is my spiritual father," she said. "As
Pirandello said, we are the fruit of all the people we meet in
our lives".
Of the motto of this year's edition of the Giffoni fest,
Carpe Diem, she said "Talking to people - that is the meaning of
life. That's what being in the moment means to me".
