The Italian Red Cross told the
regional public health service Thursday it has made a mobile
clinic and an ambulance available to take care of hundreds of
refugees who are sleeping rough in Milan's Central Station.
The Red Cross acted "given the extremely serious situation
at the station, where hundreds of refugees are living in the
entrance lobby with very little health care and the probable
presence of scabies in exponential growth".
The mobile clinic will be operative beginning Thursday, the
Red Cross said.
The ambulance will be on call 8am-8pm.
Also on Thursday, Ferrovie dello Stato rail company said it
will "at its own expense" equip areas of the Central Station not
in use by trains or passengers for refugee food and health care
distribution.
