The Cameroon army freed 24
people on Monday who had been kidnapped Sunday by the Islamist
militant group Boko Haram, African news website Koaci said.
The operation is still underway, with troops from the
military's rapid intervention battalion, who have been stationed
near the Nigerian border for weeks to block Boko Haram attacks.
Boko Haram is a militant group fighting to overthrow the
Nigerian government and establish an Islamic state.
