Troubled Italian bank Monte
dei Paschi di Siena (Mps) on Wednesday reported losses amounting
to 1.150 billion euros for the first nine months of 2014.
In the last three months of the period MPS incurred losses
equal to 797 million euros, it said.
The bank stressed that the plunge was linked to it failing
the European Central Bank (ECB)'s recent stress tests.
The ECB said MPS had a capital shortfall of around 1.2
billion euros.
