ANSA) - Rome, July 29 - Prosecutors on Tuesday shelved
proceedings against aerospace and defence giant Finmeccanica for
alleged corruption in the sale of 12 AW-101 helicopters to the
Indian government. The prosecution found the company had nothing
to do with the alleged corruption, the company said in a
statement. Prosecutors in the northern Italian city of Busto
Arsizio earlier this month asked that former Finmeccanica CEO
and president Giuseppe Orsi be sentenced to six years in prison
on international corruption charges in the helicopter case.
