The tax burden on Italians rose by
34 billion euros between 2010 and 2013 according to figures
published by small and medium-sized business association
Confesercenti Tuesday.
The increase was driven primarily by a rise in local taxes,
which accounted for 20 billion euros of the total, Confesercenti
said.
The remaining 14 billion euros ended up in central
government coffers.
