The eader of Italy's
embattled anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) Beppe Grillo
on Friday wore a crown of thorns in view of photographers
stationed in front of his beach house in the Tuscan town of
Marina di Bibbona.
Grillo waved at the photographers but did not comment as he
went on a beach walk with friends.
The comedian and politician is taking a few days of
vacation after hard campaigning before European elections in
which he strived for his Eurosceptic M5S to beat out the
centre-left Democratic Party (PD), headed by Premier Matteo
Renzi, for first place.
Instead, the M5S was trounced by the PD, which garnered
more than 40% of the vote, or roughly twice that of the M5S.
