Ukraine interim Premier Arseniy
Yatsenyuk on Friday offered to devolve more powers to eastern
regions, where pro-Russian separatists are demanding self-rule.
The interim PM is holding talks with regional leaders in
Donetsk, where activists are defying the government.
It was unclear whether the activists would settle for the
offer.
Russia's threat to cut gas supplies has led Ukraine to seek
deliveries from French and German firms.
The European Union says it can pump gas back to Ukraine with
reverse-flow pipeline technology.
Ordinarily Russian gas flows to Europe via Ukraine.
