(ANSA) - Rome, March 8 - Seven Italian players are competing
in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters golf tournament on the
European Tour in Doha March 7-10.
Italy is represented by Renato Paratore, Edoardo Molinari,
Andrea Pavan, Nino Bertasio, Lorenzo Gagli, Filippo Bergamaschi
and Guido Migliozzi.
Eddie Pepperell will be defending the title he conquered in
2018 and competing with another British player, Oliver Fisher,
who is fourth with Paratore after a spectacular comeback.
A number of leading international and European players will
not be in Doha as they will be competing in the Arnold Palmer
Invitational (PGA Tour).
Top golfers will however be competing in Qatar, with Kurt
Kitayama vying for a third title after is successes in the
Mauritius and Oman Open.
Potential winners include South Africa's Brandon Stone,
Belgium's Thomas Pieters, China's Wu Ashun, Spain's Adrian
Otaegui and Britain's Chris Wood, Aaron Rai, Tom Lewis, Paul
Waring and Jordan Smith.
Thomas Bjorn, Europe's captain whose team triumphed at the
Ryder Cup in Paris, will also be a top contender.
