(ANSA) - Rome, January 15 - Andrea Romano has won the Junior
Orange Bowl International Golf Championship, one of the world's
leading junior tournaments.
The 18-year-old Italian player in Coral Gables, Florida,
became the 55th winner of the Junior Orange Bowl boys' title,
finishing at 12-under 272 ahead of American rival Alex Vogelsong
and Spain's Jose Luis Ballester.
Romano became the third Italian in the history of the sport
to win the event.
Before him only Marco Durante (1979) and Renato Paratore
(2013) went into the books.
Over the past few years, legends like Tiger Woods have
triumphed at the championship.
The new year has started successfully, just like 2018,
thanks to Romano, a rising Italian star inspired by his myth
Tiger Woods and his religious faith.
