(ANSA) - Rome, June 11 - It has been a very good period for
Italian golfer Francesco Molinari, named Hilton Golfer of the
Month for May after his victory at the BMW PGA Championship, his
fifth European Tour title.
The golfer racked up 62% of votes, the highest this year and
much higher than the 18% of his competition, the Spaniard Adrian
Otaegui.
The feat in Wentworth, where "Chicco" Molinari defeated
former top ranked Rory McIlroy, has made golfing history.
And with a 2nd place in the Italian Open, which left a few
regrets, the Italian golfer is aiming for the U.S. Open on June
14-17.
