(ANSA) - Rome, May 22 - The world of golf has lost a great
protagonist, Carol Mann.
The member of the World Golf Hall of Fame has died at the age
of 77 after an astounding career.
A star of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, Mann won
38 tournaments.
She won her most important titles at the women's Western Open
(1964) and at the US Women's Open (1965).
First a player, then a coach, a businesswoman and an
ambassador of golf, she received in 2008 the "First Lady of Golf
Award" from the PGA of America.
