(ANSA) - Rome, October 2 - Lorenzo Gagli and Matteo Delpodio
came sixth with 275 (-13) strokes in the Kazakhstan Open
(Challenge Tour), which took place at the Nurtau Golf Club (par
72) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Tapio Pulkkanen of Finland won his
first title in the circuit after finishing the match even with
Chase Koepka of the US (whose brother Brooks won the last US
Open), beating him with a par at the third extra play-off hole.
In third place with 272 was England's Tom Murray, in fourth with
273 Erik Van Rooyen of South Africa (leader after three rounds),
and in fifth with 274 Nicolai Van Dellingshausen of Germany. In
41st with 284 was Francesco Laporta and in 50th with 286
Federico Maccario and Andrea Pavan. Pulkkanen, a 27-year-old
from Kotka, had six birdies and two bogeys for 68 (-4) and Chase
Koepka tied him with seven birdies and a bogey for 66 (-6). The
winner received a 72,000-euro check from a 450,000-euro prize
fund, with Koepka receiving 49,500 euros and Murray with 31,500
euros, all figures above the average first prize. Matteo
Delpodio had 67 (-5) with five birdies and no bogeys, and
Lorenzo Gagli had 68 (-4) with five birdies and a bogey. Exiting
at the cut, fallen to 142 (-2): Alessandro Tadini (76 69) and
Enrico Di Nitto (77 68), in 85th place with 145 (+1); and Nicolò
Ravano, 113th with 149 (76 73, +5).
