About 7,000 Italian business
owners are set to attend a meeting with Pope Francis on Saturday
as part of the Jubilee Holy Year of the Catholic Church.
"We've called it the Jubilee of Industry," the President of
employers' lobby Confindustria Giorgio Squinzi told ANSA.
"Today, the job business owners have is much bigger than
what it was in the past. There is a crisis of confidence that
has hit families and young people above all. The answer to this
crisis can come from business and work, which means restoring
hope and dignity," he said.
He said business owners attending the meeting with the pope
would be keeping this "moral responsibility" in mind.
The two-day event organised by Confindustria for the
Jubilee begins on Friday with a reunion to reflect on "ethics
and business in the connected and global society".
