The recent accord on
Iran's nuclear programme and Iran's role in helping solve
conflicts in the Middle East were among the topics addressed by
Pope Francis and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Tuesday, the
Vatican press office said.
Among the issues discussed, it said, were "common spiritual
values...the nuclear accord...and the important role Iran is
called on to play, together with other countries in the region,
to promote adequate political solutions to the issues that
afflict the Middle East".
