Boldrini on Thursday hailed Olympic silver medal winning fencer
Elisa Di Francisca, who brandished a European Union flag on the
podium and called for unity against Islamist terrorism. "Thank
you Elisa Di Francisca for silver at Rio 2016 and for bringing
the EU flag from the Marche (region where she is from) to the
podium," Boldrini tweeted. "United we are stronger, including
against (so-called Islamic State terrorist group) ISIS".
