Silvio Berlusconi's family
holding company Fininvest said Friday that Thai businessman Bee
Taechaubol was not the only potential buyer of a minority stake
in AC Milan.
Three-time premier Berlusconi reached a preliminary deal
last year with Taechaubol to sell him a non-controlling stake of
around 48% in the seven-time European champions, reportedly for
around 500 million euros.
However, the agreement has not yet been finalised.
"In parallel with the talks still taking place with Mr
Taechaubol, interest has been expressed by other authoritative
potential investors in a stake in Milan," Fininvest said in a
statement.
"In some cases talks are taking place, absolutely in a
preliminary phase.
"In any case, there has never been discussion of the sale
of a majority stake and the overall valuation of the club is in
line with the lines proposed by Mr Bee," it added, referring to
Taechaubol by the nickname he has in the Italian media.
