Inter Milan on Thursday denied
owner Erick Thohir was planning to sell his 70% stake in the
club because of heavy losses.
But they said in a statement the club was seeking
commercial partners in Asia and its goal was to qualify for
Europe next year.
Thohir later told reporters there was a strong interest in
Inter in Asia and particularly in China.
"Many clubs are seeking partners in China: Milan openly and
others discreetly," he said.
"There's a catchment area of 190 million Inter fans in the
Asia-Pacific zone, that's why we're looking for a local partner
in China".
After a poor run early-season pace-setters Inter are fifth
in Serie A, 10 points behind leaders Juventus.
