Russia must feel "strong pressure"
from Europe to end its war on Ukraine, President Sergio
Mattarella said after talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid
Tebboune in Rome Thursday.
"We spoke about the sad affair of Russia's war on Ukraine. I
remarked that in Italy's view it is necessary to pressure the
Russian federation so that it agrees to a truce. WE must arrive
at a cease-fire and negotiations. We hope that this will happen
but we believe that Russia must feel strong pressure from
Europe," the Italian head of state said.
