The government will help those
on the lowest pensions in the 2017 budget, Premier Matteo Renzi
said Tuesday. He said there would be "two measures on pensions:
to help out on minimum pensions" with a "sort of 14th pay check"
and try to help people retire earlier, with a parachute or
anticipated pension, giving up a bit". He said people three
years from retirement would be able to take advantage of the
measure. The government has said people will be able to take a
cut in pensions and retire at 63, rather than 66, by taking out
a loan.
